  • Storyline:It is a web where you can watch famous actors reading stories in streaming video with pictures and follow-up exercises.

  • ELLLO: It is a free online listening resource of over 1,000 listening activities designed especially for ESL and EFL students and teachers. Most listening activities include images, an interactive quiz, transcript of the audio and downloadable MP3.

  • The Daily English Show: It is the world's first daily online English language show. Produced by studio tdes and presented by Sarah - a New Zealander based in Niseko, Japan. The Daily English Show is free for anyone to use for teaching or studying. Teachers can use the videos and scripts in class. The Daily English Show has no sponsor and there is no advertising on the show or on the sites.

  • ESL Cyberlistening Lab: Randall's ESL Listening Lab is the best place on the Internet to get authentic listening practice. It has different levels (easy / medium / difficult) and each activity contains: a pre-listening exercise, a listening exercise, vocabulary acivities (not always) and a post-listening exercise.

  • Music and Children's TV Shows: Another great way of instilling the love of music in your children is letting them watch educational tv shows for kids that fosters music education. Since most homes are never without a television set, why not make the tv work to your child's advantage? Here are several suggested tv programs to check out.

  • ESL-Galaxy: Teach English with songs. You will find printable music worksheets and lyrics.

  • Listen-and-write: The site gives you the opportunity of listening to and writing dictations. You can listen to all audio at once or select the track to start the dictation. It is a way to improve your listening skills and hear about the news. There is different levels of difficulty. If you or your students have problems, you can also view the transcripts.

  • LeosLyrics: It is a searchable lyrics database with over 300000 song lyrics with messageboards and discussions to use in the classroom.

  • Podfeed.net : It is a podcast directory that helps you find podcasts, read and write podcast reviews, listen to podcasts and share your podcast with others.

  • Learn English with pictures and audio: Learn English with pictures and audio. It is similar to a picture dictionary, but it contains audio so you can listen to the pronunciation of words.

  • Using Music in the ESL Classroom: It is a very interesting article telling you about the benefits of using music, techniques for using music with L2 learners, suggested activities, tips for using music effectively, online materials and resources, etc.

  • Infosquares: You will find here short clips from contemporary movies and popular television shows to test listening comprehension.

  • Newsinslowenglish: English language podcast for beginners who already posses a basic vocabulary and some knowledge of Spanish grammar. Although you have to suscribe, you can take advantage of some free materials that will be useful and enough for listening to news everywhere.

  • The Film Education website: A site created for primary and secondary teachers and students using films across the UK National Curriculum.

  • BookBox : Audio-visual stories, ages 2 to Pre-Teen; web-based jukebox of digital books. Hear the books read in a multitude of languages. Individual words can be followed in a number of languages also. You do have to register but it is free registration.
